Travel Tips
Come with a positive and open attitude. You may or may not have a Paranormal experience.

Do not bring young children or persons with physical/mental challenges. These types of environments may prove to be too much for them. Also, children are more receptive to Paranormal activity. They may see things you do not and may get scared! Keep your personal safety and the safety of those traveling with you first at all times!

Do not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You need all your faculties intact to have an optimum experience.

Similarly, do not travel when you are ill. Your immune system will be lowered, thus depleting your energy.

Engage or (attempt to) engage ghosts in a positive/open manner. For example "Is anyone here? Do you wish to contact us"? Do not provoke, badger or yell at our (sometimes) unseen friends.

Learn as much as you can about Ghosts/Paranormal activities prior to travel. Check the Links section for some starters for research.

Learn as much about the particular hotel (location) you are going to visit beforehand. You can Google search the hotel to gain some preliminary knowledge. A little bit of information may go a long way and lead to a more positive/productive experience.  In the future, Spookscape.com will provide historical information on hotels (locations) as well as a history of Paranormal activities there.

Having some basic supplies will enhance your adventure. In the least, you will want to have pen/pencil and paper to record your experiences. Have at least one or more flashlights with good batteries. Bring along camera equipment you are comfortable with to record visual phenomena. Whether that is a digital camera or disposable, that is up to you. Some of the best photos out there have been recorded with disposable cameras. They are less susceptible to electrical problems that ghosts often create. Try to bring along a tape recorder to record auditory  phenomena. Whether it is a common tape recorder or higher-end digital recorder, that is up to you. You may even record EVP (Electronic Voice  Phenomena). Aside from these items, pack as you would for any other trip. Check the Links section for research and supply information.

Inquire about Paranormal activity with hotel personnel. If the hotel does not embrace their haunted happenings/history, do so discretely. In this case, you may or may not receive a lot of useful information.

Please be aware that some hotels that have a history of alleged Paranormal activity may or may not market themselves as such. They may not fully embrace haunted happenings there. Out of a courtesy to them, and other guests you may want to "stay below the radar". For example, some guests may be there for the trees/flowers/etc. and not the ghosts!

Have a plan B or Bug-Out arrangement if things get out-of-hand and/or too overwhelming. Keep your personal safety  and the safety of those traveling with you first at all times!

You may have a Paranormal encounter in various ways. You may "see something out of the corner of your eye". It may appear to be a shadow or movement. You may get a strange/funny feeling. You may get a queasy/sick in your stomach feeling. It may be the case that you feel like somebody is watching you. Be aware of strange scents/smells, for example perfume or cigar smoke. Noises and visual phenomena may also occur. You may think you hear or see something out of the "ordinary". You may feel as though something has touched you or "brushed by you".

In any of the above-mentioned situations, make sure you record the time/date/place and also what happened. Take photos and also have recorders going at or around any such times of occurence. Try to stay calm and evaluate what is happening. You may be having a unique experience that some people have not had the opportunity to encounter.
